Dali overview

Dali represents one of the most unique cities in China and is located in one of the most beautiful parts of China, which make it a popular destination for tourists both Chinese and foreign. The first thing you will be struck by upon entering Dali is the natural beauty surrounding this ancient and preserved city. The second thing you will notice are the strangely dressed women who are trying to sell you Ganja, which grows everywhere in the region and has traditionally been part of the Bai culture. This makes is likely that at some point you will see a 90-year-old Chinese man smoking pot out of a water pipe on the side of the road, which all add to Dali's laid back atmosphere. Many people stop here on their way to Tiger Leaping Gorge but end up getting trapped by Dali's nice guesthouses and western food.
