Nanning overview

Nanning Travel Guide
Nanning is a large modern Chinese city of few attractions, save for its role as a transit centre for travellers coming from or to Vietnam. There are no famous tourist sites to draw intrepid, well-funded travellers and the locals seem only too aware of this. Despite the lack of anything meaningful for which to boast about has not stopped the Nanning populace from endeavouring to carve a name for itself as one of China’s more friendly urban sprawls; with many travellers happy to sit around and talk as their Vietnam visa is processed. The perfect jumping off point for its neighbour, travel between the two is efficient and extensive. The highlight is undoubtedly the Bird and Flower Market, behind People’s Park, which showcases all things floral and feathered in a riot of colour and noise. Keep your valuables hidden as the area is notorious for pick-pockets.
