Xiamen overview

Located on the eastern seaboard of China is the relatively small city of Xiamen. Xiamen is often overlooked by most travellers, but does have a few tourist attractions to cater for all interests. The majority of tourists to go to Xiamen are travelling on their way to the car-free Gulangyu Island, which offers spectacular views in unspoiled and natural beauty. Travellers in Xiamen will witness first hand the beautiful colonial architecture, which is becoming endangered as many older buildings are unfortunately being demolished to make way for new high-rise buildings. Xiamen also has a vibrant nightlife, with a large number of restaurants, bars and clubs. Accommodation in Xiamen mostly caters for domestic travellers; however there are several four and five star hotels in the CBD. Xiamen is accessed by flights from most parts of China, and international services operate direct from Seoul.
