Yantai overview

Yantai is a sleepy port city located on the northern China coast and has little to offer a first time traveller. Still retaining its colonial charm, Yantai features a number of seaside attractions including a picturesque promenade and a nightly sound and light show, which is free! The area surrounding Yantai is famous for its fruit crops and is famous for its cherries, peaches, apples and pears. Yantai is a great place for younger tourists who want to get away from other backpackers droning about their travels and the usual tourist traps. During the summer months, the main beach is the place to go for swimming, while a variety of bars and clubs are on offer. Yantai offers a range of accommodation to cater for all travellers, from budget to four-star, and flights operate daily from most major cities in China as well as some international flights.
