Yichang overview

Yichang Travel Guide
Yichang is an inland city of about four million and located what feels like a million miles away from Shanghai, but is actually only 1500kms. Not usually considered a tourist destination, Yichang offers travellers the chance to see what life is like outside of the major cities. Tourists can still find many things to see and do in and around Yichang. Probably the most popular tourist attraction in the region is the Three Visitors Caves and Gorge, which is located on a peninsular just outside the city and features some ancient poetry engraved in stone. Three Visitors Caves and Gorge provide travellers with a postcard-perfect view of the city and the Yangzi River. Luxury travellers may have problems with finding accommodation in Yichang, as most of the hotels are geared towards Chinese who come here to do business. Yichang’s airport is located a 40-minute drive away from the city centre and is served by direct flights from many locations throughout China.
